Latin America Short Story

Are you looking to add a great project to your reel?

I’m looking to work with a group of interns on short spots for Yahoo Latin America. The content is still open for discussion but think something like Tosh.O for Latin America. Perhaps not comedy but maybe cooking advise or funny advice from a grandparent.

There is no budget for the first set of content but once we get the first set live future gigs come with varying budget levels. These will be Eight-Twelve 3 min Shorts, 2 characters, one locations.

I’m looking for filming students that can help me with camera work, monologues, editing and any creative ideas you may want to share. Everyone on the team will get credit and food. We are looking for film majors that want to show their hands on experience on making a film and are in need of students/graduates with their own equipment. Video Camera, sound equipment, light equipment, etc….I am looking to work with a crew (Director, Producer, Editor, Screen Writer, Camera and Special Effects) who are willing to gain experience as well as earn credit as part of this project. There is no pay.

Please reply with your name, age, favorite film genre, your major, school you are attending/attended, the equipment you are using.

Note; while the actors will need to be bilingual the crew doesn’t need to be (helpful if you are..)

Pinterest Market Statistics

Pinterest’s mission is to “connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting”the site is funded by a small group of entrepreneurs and inventors. As one of the “fastest growing social services in the world”, the simple layout and interface enables anyone to easily use it.

Some notable statistics;

1. Fortune magazine says pinterest has become the fastest growing website of all time.

2. Pinterest is retaining and engaging users as much as two to three times as efficiently as Twitter was at a similar time in history. (via RJMetrics)

3. Pinterest accounts for 3.6 percent of referral traffic, while Twitter just barely edged ahead of the newcomer, accounting for 3.61 percent of referral traffic. In July 2011, Pinterest accounted for just 0.17 percent of referral traffic, proving the site’s blockbuster growth. (via PR Daily)

4. According to comScore (via TechCrunch), the average Pinterest user spends 98 minutes per month on the site, compared to 2.5 hours on Tumblr, and seven hours on Facebook.

5. Daily Pinterest users have increased by more than 145 percent since the beginning of 2012. (via Mashable)

Users of the site LOVE what they pin. As a brand engaging with people who love your brand is the holy grail for marketing companies. Putting simply; Pinterest is most effective way to reach your target market (making it easy for them to interact with you..)

Digital Ad Growth

According to figures from ZenithOptimedia, global advertising revenues will reach $486 billion in 2012, a rise of 4.7 percent compared to 2011. With wider economic pressures bearing down on the overall ad market, digital ad spend is still seeing healthy growth: it will account for slightly more than one-fifth of all ad spend, but more than half of all growth, as advertisers become more confident in digital media metrics, and the ad industry gets more sophisticated in what it offers to brands and publishers in the name of digital advertising—which will remain a key way of funding digital content, as media companies continue to tinker with other charging models.
